'Puters are great as long as they are working.
Sounds like you are getting quite a work out. That's a good number of traps to run. Real pain to have somebody "help" you check 'em like that! I'd sure like to catch the guy!!
How's your fur looking? They primed up or still some blue? The thing with the screen is O.K. but what I used was "hardware cloth" you know the heavier metal squares. I liked the fact they let in more air.
Hey jk, nothing wrong with sittin' and waiting for them to come to you. I don't still hunt much anymore and as for deer drives forget it. I hunt mostly alone. Nothing wrong with it esp for an "ol' timer' like me. ;D
Not gonna make it putting out sets this year but things should be back right with my health by next season.
Meantime I appreciate living thru you and the other posts on the forums. Thanks for that.
Best to you and your's. Paul

'puters, hell I call um complicators!! Gee I don't think it is to much but I have several that are a 100 yards off the road, I had a lot worse but had to cut down for bear season and then just for my body. The Physician says there is hope so I keep exercising..... My most recient ones look a lot better than earlier and especially better than last year. A local told me how he uses a draw knife and it really works maybe not as fast as the $150 jobs that come from just 10 miles from here but look real good and professional, just I do spend a lot of time at it. I had one small coon that was blue and that seems to look better with time? Other than that they all are good. One problem I have that I will fix with the next few fleshings is that I do tear the pelt under the arm pits, and my rats were fighters they all have scars in all stages of healing. Sitting is successful but boring BORING I like a more active approach where you do some HUNTING then at near the end of the day you get located where you think the action will be, but not now.... Hay I am 62+, I got a buddy that smokes has had heart surgery several times yet he is a roofer and carries that stuff up ladders and walks a lot of the flatlanders to the bone and he is 10 days younger than me..... You say you are living through me, my idol was fishguts what happened to him??? two weeks ago I got 3 fox in one day followed by a double the next boy did I think I was a pro then the next one came two days ago. I am convinced that the hunters traffic in the woods really alters the night time critters, bear season and mainly deerseason being the worse after that last year things picked up for me a bit Oh I got possum #30 and skunker #12. Possums don't seem to scare animals away from sets like some people try to lead you to think.....jk Thanks for the compliment

Check your IM, I sent you a personal message.
I have an old draw knife that I have used for years. I guess it's what you get used to and what works for you.
The front leg area can be hard to flesh if you aren't careful. Gotta be a little slower around there until you get the hang of it.
I had that with rats esp when I got in to an area that wasn't trapped for awhile and most the 'rats were big old ones. They really tear each other up during breeding season so if they are lucky to live for awhile they do get scarred up a lot.
A triple then a double. you must be doing something right! Glad to hear it.
I do agree about the 'possums. I never had a problem that way.
Good luck and post some pictures if you can. Paul

I'm with you on that angela.
Nothing like a red bouncing around unless it's a grey or maybe a 'yote.

Wolverine. They are easy to catch, if you get one working your line your going to get him, the hard part is keeping in the trap. They flop and twist around like a salmon out of water and can destroy a trap. Alot of folks who don't know better will tell you if you get on your line they will destroy everything in sight. I've lost more fur to voles and mice.

Hey CrowHillTrapper !
Yeah, water trapping is a whole other game.
You do much land trapping for mink?
If so what are your favorite sets. if you don't mind telling, that is.

It means TO THE TOP it's to keep a post on top and active so it doesn't get lost.
I think we all appreciate Galen's reply and a lot of us can relate to what he said.
