Does anyone know of the history of snaring in NY? Has there ever been? Is anyone familiar with any previous proposals?
Just curious...I have heard some ol' timers concerned that we would need to trade off our 220's for snares..Not an attractive proposition. I am not sure of the source of there comments.. It just seems that snaring is a positive tool for the trapper and was wondering why NY does not permit snares.

Good questions Steve.
It appers to me that the snares along with the continued use of the 220's would be a good thing.
I, for one, would like to see snaring for coyotes legal.
If anyone knows anything to enlighten us please post.

I'd like to know more on this too. I would love to be able to snare K-9's during the late season.
