Turkeys are fun too.
Watching 8-9 little peeps out by the bird feeder right now.
Jen, What I would do is put that flaky crust right on top of that squirrel stew and man that's good eatin'. Sure miss it.
Glad your taking your daddy along with you. It is another "thingy" when you start to slow down.
Gotta go and fix myself something to eat after all this talk.

Jennifer,
I don't hunt much like I use to 'cause of health problems but still like deer hunting and also helping the farmers out by popping ground hogs.
Of course I am not adverse to shooting at 'yotes if I come across one while trapping.
Used to like pa'ridge and woodthingy, rabbit and most of all the makin's of a good squirrel pie.
If you hunt 'em (squirrels) and can make a good crust send one up this way.
note: I didn't put the "thingy" in there I just spelled out the name of a game bird and it got changed !
Thanks, Paul#nosmileys

Man that is one strange looking head! Too bad some low life stole it. Thanks for posting it. I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes.

BirdDog
I make my own bait and do so over the summer. A lot of it is groundhog that is tainted, not rotten, and it is done underground. I chunk it and put some "special" additives in it.
Back when I used to buy bait, more years ago than I can remember, I used Carmen's Fox and Coyote bait but that was so long ago I don't even know if it is still availible.
Check out Galen's store. I am sure any of the commercial baits by a well known trapper are just fine. Paul

No secrets jk. I just gave him the link to Traps4kids. There is a heck of a lot of info there and ANYONE can learn stuff there on the archives no matter how long they have been trapping. I wish I had that info back when I started. It would have saved me many years of trial and error. www.traps4kids.com/

I will tell you how I do it for fox. Not everyone will agree and that is fine all I know is this works for me. I set almost up tight to to hole. At most an inch back. I offset to the right maybe an inch or two, say the trap pan is at 5 o'clock to the bottom of the hole. Some say you must have trap further back for yotes and if I trapped just for them I would set back away from hole more. The way it is I still pick up yotes. Maybe I am missing a few but thats what it is. Don't make the hole too shallow/to much angle as they will stand further back to look/smell in the hole. As for "doubles" I don't put two traps at a dirt hole. It is, however, very profitable to make another set, say a post or flat set, near the original. Again, what I like to do is put in a set using a prominent clump of grass or small piece of wood/bone, etc with a squirt of urine on it about 6-8 feet away. Hope this helps and if anyone has more info to help out here or another method POST IT please.

Man I'd take him up on the offer. You can never have enough traps and to get first hand advice face to face sure makes it easier to learn. If you find there are some traps you don't want/need post them on here and sell them if you want.
As for the posting of pictures to tell you the truth I don't have a clue. The person to talk to about that is Tim Wilcox and he went in the hospital for an operation today. As soon as he gets back online make a post or send a personal mail, PM , to him and ask. I know he can help you.

Beings I don't live down there and don't know your weather patterns could be you had a cold snap and they holed up for a bit.
Hang in there and use your head. I am sure you will figure it out. Good Luck to you.
