I just found out I missed about ten days worth of squirrel hunting here in KY-they added it in between spring and fall litters-to fill a gap I guess...it seems no one squirrel hunts like they used to, and it is a shame-I see big fox squirrels dead on the road because of cars, but, what a waste...'course they come in handy when my foxes and coyotes are hungry!!! Jennifer,
I don't hunt much like I use to 'cause of health problems but still like deer hunting and also helping the farmers out by popping ground hogs.
Of course I am not adverse to shooting at 'yotes if I come across one while trapping.
Used to like pa'ridge and woodthingy, rabbit and most of all the makin's of a good squirrel pie.
If you hunt 'em (squirrels) and can make a good crust send one up this way.
note: I didn't put the "thingy" in there I just spelled out the name of a game bird and it got changed !
Thanks, Paul#nosmileys

Paul, my guess on the thingy thing is probably you can't say 'thingy'- woodthingy-what's wrong w/ that??? We'll see how this comes out... Anyway-sorry your hunting's not like it used to be-dad doesn't hunt too much anymore either-emphysema,etc...but I take him w/ me on ADC calls and he loves trappin' w/ me...it's fun for him-me too sometimes, depends on the customer!!! I used to make squirrel stew all the time...I just wish I'd have hunted mid-June, then you could bag those tender young 'uns...and yes, I can make a mean crust...also, great homemade chicken and dumplin's!!! Jen Paul-I guess you can't say 'thingy'!!!

Turkeys are fun too.
Watching 8-9 little peeps out by the bird feeder right now.
Jen, What I would do is put that flaky crust right on top of that squirrel stew and man that's good eatin'. Sure miss it.
Glad your taking your daddy along with you. It is another "thingy" when you start to slow down.
Gotta go and fix myself something to eat after all this talk.

hey i drew up a neat like plan for a portable deer shooting blind or house call by some, sorry i like to be comfortable. the plans aren't much realy but it will get you building in right dircetion. my 6x6 pulls it w/ no problems. i tried to keep it light and small for better manoverablity. i even cut the 4x4 posts to 3x3's. it totals 4'w by 4'w by 5' tall or so
well i can't figure out how to attach a .pdf file to this so let me know if you want to see it and i will try to get it to you

Hey Jen, well I'll be dipped !!!!!! You mean to tell me you would recommend for me to eat "store bought" "pre-prepared" type food. Still don't know what a "Kroger's" is. And who the heck is Marie Callender ? I am so confused at this point.

Should your name be changed to Jeremiah Johnson, or Old Bearclaw??? "Saw it right off..." What about Del Q? Indians bury you up to your neck with a fine horse under ya??? Oh I love that movie!!! Jen

Girl, I was born to home and in the mountains. ;D And I still don't eat that store bought food. Is that where real mountain men went to buy thier food ? I liked that movie too. And if I were buried up to my neck most of me would still be out of the ground. ;D

Has anyone noticed we don't even talk about hunting on a subject entitled-"who hunts what?" LOL Jen

Yup, I did and am one of the one's responsible for that.
I apologize to all the board members and will try and stick to the subject at hand from now on.
