I have some #2 bridgers that I used this year. I noticed that with only a single season usage the springs on the used traps are noticably weaker than the springs on the never used traps. All the traps have been baseplated and I plan to laminate this summer as well. Is it advisable for me to upgrade to piano wire? Should I upsize to #3 piano wire for late season use?

Personally I would upgrade to the #3's. With the baseplating it should be fine IMO.
Someone else may have a different opinion tho.

It's all personal preference, but if you plan on using the Music Wire springs I see no reason to jump up to a #3 size. Some people consider the #3's a bit of overkill.
